As in all frosted glass, you can see shadows behind it so the obscurity is very important. 5 is the strongest and 1 is the lightest obscurity. It is not uncommon for customers to ask for both the panes (in double glazing) to be frosted to strengthen the obscurity as opposed to 1 pane being frosted and the other clear.
